Here's whats happening at The Altamont Club
Consider this: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
The Summer Picnic is a family event held at a home on Paris Mountain, usually in June or July. We have barbecue, cole slaw, baked beans and beverages. Last year, we had a ping pong table and lots of fun. It's an opportunity for neighbors on the mountain to get together, sit a spell and visit. This year's Summer Picnic will be held at Bob and Sue Wilson's property on Lake Circle. Be on the lookout for more information and a specific date and time!!
When a client asks me if thedog can sleep on their bed, I answer back with a question: Does your dog pee on the bed? While my question may surprise some of you, peeing on the bed is a symptom of other undesired behaviors going on in the house. So if they answer "no," my answer is, “Yes, let your dog sleep on the bed.”
But if your dog is aggressive, or dominant, or suffers from anxiety, the answer is not so simple. I would say “No. For now…”
Here’s why: If a dog is in charge of your house (in other words, in charge of you), elevating a dog to a higher physical place — while it means nothing to you — means a lot to a dog. When a dog is at the same level as a human, in the dog’s mind it is very powerful. In a dog’s mind they are equal to a human.
The Fall Business Meeting is held in October. We usually meet at a restaurant or clubhouse. It is our chance to elect new officers, discuss any business and again visit with our neighbors. Last year our Fall Business meeting was held at Bocca's Italian Restaurant. It was a great success! If you have a suggestion for the meeting place for next fall's meeting, contact Patty Einstein, 346-3323, or Marge Scieszka, 421-7569.
